What You'll Do
- HR Team Management: Lead and manage the HR team, ensuring effective delivery of core HR transactional services across all regions in line with company procedures and national labour standards.
- Business Partnership: Actively partner with business leaders to demonstrate HR’s value, provide solutions, and drive transformation initiatives aligned with organisational objectives.
- Strategic HR Projects: Implement strategic HR plans and allocate resources to priority projects, ensuring delivery within set timelines.
- Service Provider Oversight: Monitor and evaluate the performance of external HR service providers to ensure quality, compliance, and cost-effectiveness.
- Data Protection & Compliance: Safeguard the confidentiality of team Member data and ensure compliance with South African legislation, including POPIA, BCEA, LRA, and EE Act.
- Talent Development: Drive Team Member development, succession planning, and career pathing to build organisational capability.
- Onboarding & Integration: Oversee the onboarding process to ensure smooth integration of new employees within agreed timelines.
- Performance Management: Ensure consistent application of performance management and review processes according to company standards and timeframes.
- Industrial Relations: Manage Industrial relations matters, ensuring fair, consistent, and timely outcomes in line with labour law and internal policies.
- Recruitment & Resourcing: Oversee the recruitment function, ensuring timeous and compliant appointments aligned with Employment Equity targets.
- Employment Equity: Support the Employment Equity function, ensuring EE plans are implemented and reported as required by South African legislation.
- Team Development: Support, develop, and coach the HR team, ensuring they remain motivated, upskilled, and equipped to deliver.
- Systems & Workflows: Monitor and approve HR system workflows (e.g., Oracle), ensuring accuracy and timely action.
- Policies & Procedures: Regularly review HR policies, contracts, and procedures in consultation with the HR Manager to ensure compliance with South African labour legislation and relevance across the employee life cycle.
- Employee Wellness: Identify, source, and implement wellness initiatives that support employee well-being.
- Reporting: Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly HR reports for decision-making.
- HR Compliance: Ensure full compliance with South African labour legislation (including the Labour Relations Act, Basic Conditions of Employment Act, Employment Equity Act, Skills Development Act, and POPIA) by regularly monitoring practices, conducting audits, and updating policies and procedures to meet legal and regulatory standards.
- Ad Hoc Projects: Manage and support additional HR initiatives that add value to the organisation.
- Provide leadership and direction to the HR team by setting clear goals, acting as a role model, and creating a supportive environment that motivates, develops, and empowers team members to deliver on HR and business objectives.
- Payroll Management: Oversee the collation, verification, and accuracy of weekly payrolls, ensuring all employee data, hours, and allowances are correctly captured, and approve/sign off payrolls in line with company policies and statutory requirements.
What You’ll Need
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- HR professional certification (SABPP) preferred.
- Minimum 8 - 10 years of HR experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role managing a team.
- Experience in South African labour law, payroll, performance management, and employee relations.
